Is the television the focal point of the room, or the thing you are trying to hide?
Most televisions are bought to be looked at. The Frame is bought to be looked past. It hangs flat on a wall, shows a painting or a photograph when nobody is watching anything, and the design work goes into making a switched off screen stop being a black rectangle in a room people live in. That is the entire proposition, and whether it is worth the premium depends on whether the black rectangle is a problem you actually have.
The LS03B is Samsung’s 2022 generation of that idea at 55 inches. It measures 48.7 inches wide by 29.3 inches high by 9 inches deep and weighs 38.1 pounds, and the depth figure includes the stand rather than describing how far it sits off a wall. The Slim Fit Wall Mount is included in the box, and the flush hang is what the whole design depends on. Samsung footnotes that honestly on its own page: a small gap between the wall and the television can appear if the wall is not completely flat or is built off angle to the floor. In an older house, check the wall with a straight edge before you commit to the look.
The second thing to plan is where the box goes. Samsung’s One Invisible Connection runs a single slim cable from the panel to a separate Slim One Connect box that holds all the inputs and the power. That is what removes cable clutter from the wall, and it means the box needs a home within cable reach: a shelf, a cabinet or a recess. Marketing that promises one cable does not usually mention the second object.
Matte screen and quantum dot: the two picture decisions
The anti reflection matte display is the feature that makes art display work. Samsung describes it as a matte display film that limits light distraction by reducing glare, so that what is on the screen looks as good in the morning with the lights on as it does at night. A still image on a glossy panel reads as a screen showing a picture. On a matte panel it reads closer to a print.
That treatment has a cost and it is worth understanding rather than discovering. A matte surface scatters ambient light instead of reflecting it in one direction, which raises the apparent black level a little in a lit room. In exchange, the window opposite stops appearing in your screen. For a living room where the set spends most of its time showing art, that is the right trade. For a dark room where you watch films, it is a compromise.
On color, Samsung lists Quantum HDR and 100 percent color volume with quantum dot, and footnotes the color claim specifically: QLED televisions can produce 100 percent color volume in the DCI P3 color space, which is the format used for most cinema screens and HDR movies. That is a checkable technical statement rather than a vague one, which is more than most listings offer.
Sound, software and recording
The speaker configuration is recorded as 2.0 channel, which is a conventional stereo pair with no upward firing height channels. A set this thin has very little cabinet volume, so a soundbar is a reasonable assumption for anything beyond casual viewing. The platform is Samsung’s Tizen smart television software with Alexa built in and multiple voice assistants, Bluetooth 5.2, Ambient Mode Plus, and a USB recording function that lets the set record to an attached drive. Power is stated as AC 110 to 120 volts at 50 or 60 Hz.
Living with a television that displays art
The motion sensor is the feature that makes Art Mode practical rather than wasteful. Samsung says it shows your art when you are in the room and turns off when you are not, and footnotes that the sensor operates only in Art Mode and that performance varies with lighting conditions. Set it up on day one and check it works in your actual room lighting.
The art library is a subscription. Samsung’s Art Store is described here as giving unlimited access to a library of over 1,400 new and classic pieces, and the company states plainly that store fees apply. Your own photographs and artwork can be uploaded and displayed for free, so the subscription is optional rather than required.
The bezels are also separate. The magnetic customizable bezel that gives the product its name is sold on its own, and Samsung notes that the beveled style is only available in the 55 and 65 inch sizes. Budget for it, because the frame effect is a large part of what you are buying.
One oddity in the listing data is worth flagging rather than repeating. The first feature bullet on this page begins with retailer badge text about a product being handpicked, followed immediately by power supply and Bluetooth specifications. That is store furniture that has leaked into the manufacturer’s own feature list, not a statement about the television.
The listing shows 758 ratings at 3.9 stars, a rank of 89th in QLED televisions, and an availability date of March 2022. A 3.9 average is worth reading carefully. Lifestyle products attract buyers who expected flagship picture performance, and a set optimized for glare rejection and still images will not measure the same as one optimized for contrast in a dark room.
What would send you elsewhere
Be deliberate about which generation you are buying, because the model letters differ by one character. The newer version of this exact set is the Samsung QN55LS03D, which adds a 2.0.2 channel speaker layout and a larger art library, and the same LS03B idea at a bigger size is the Samsung QN65LS03B.
If picture quality per dollar is what you actually want, the money goes further elsewhere. The Hisense 65U6K and the Vizio M65Q6 put their budget into the panel rather than the presentation, and the QLED category is the place for that comparison.
If you are not using the included Slim Fit bracket, options from the wall and ceiling mount category will hold the set safely, though nothing third party sits as close to the wall.
Who it fits and who should skip it
Buy it if the television is in a room people occupy when it is off, if you have a flat wall and somewhere to put the One Connect box, and if you will actually use Art Mode rather than treating it as a novelty.
Skip it if you watch films in a darkened room, if you want the best panel your money can buy, or if an uneven wall will spoil the flush fit. Budget separately for bezels and for the art subscription, since neither is included.
