Affiliate Disclosure

CyberLyber earns money from the links on this site. Some of the links here are affiliate links, which means that if you follow one and buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

That is the whole arrangement, stated at the top rather than buried at the bottom, because you are entitled to know how a site that gives you buying information pays for itself before you read the information.

Which links are affiliate links

Assume that any link taking you to a retailer is an affiliate link. That includes the buttons on a write up and product names in the body text that lead off site. The main program we take part in is the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.

Links that stay on cyberlyber.com are not affiliate links. Pointing you from one write up to another, or to a section such as coffee machines or rice cookers, earns nothing by itself.

How a commission happens

When you follow a shopping link, the retailer records that you arrived from here, usually by setting a cookie in your browser on its own domain. If you then buy within that window, the sale is attributed to us and we receive a percentage. The price you pay is the retailer’s normal price and is not affected by our involvement. The mechanics of that cookie, including how long the Amazon one lasts, are explained on the Cookie Policy page.

What this does not change

Commission does not decide what appears here or what is said about it. A product that has an obvious weakness gets that weakness written down, and a page will tell you when a different model is the better fit for your situation even though the click goes somewhere else. We are not paid by manufacturers for coverage, we do not accept payment for a favorable write up, and no brand gets to review a page before it goes live.

We do not test products

This belongs in a disclosure as much as the money does. We do not physically test, handle or measure the products we write about. There is no laboratory, no test bench, no review unit and no panel of testers. Every write up is built from the manufacturer’s published specifications and the retailer’s listing data, and claims are attributed to whichever of those sources they came from.

So nothing here should be read as a measured result or as a firsthand account of using a machine. Published specifications can also be wrong or out of date, so confirm the details that matter to you with the manufacturer before buying. How the pages are actually assembled is described on the About page.

Your purchase is with the retailer

We are not the seller and not an agent of the seller. Orders, delivery, returns, refunds and warranty claims are between you and the retailer or manufacturer. Nothing is sold on this site.

This disclosure is made in the spirit of the Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements and testimonials. If anything about it is unclear, ask through the contact form. It also forms part of the Terms and Conditions.
